In the days following an alleged attack on Jussie Smollett, the Empire actor Googled himself over 50 times, records show. The review of Smollett’s computer search history by Chicago Police was made during an investigation into his claims.
On January 29, Smollett told police that he was involved in a homophobic and racist attack, which they claim he set up to “advance his career.” According to the documents, Smollett Googled himself up seven times alone on January 30.
The records of Smollett’s search history are a part of various documents in the Chicago Police investigation, which also include bodycam footage of Smollett speaking to police with a noose around his neck, which he claims was placed there by his attackers.
